· · 2 min read

Mark Cuban congratulated Pablo Torre after the NBA announced their Los Angeles Clippers ruling. This led to several fans making fun of the former Dallas Mavericks owner.

Pablo Torre is the man of the hour after the NBA handed the Los Angeles Clippers a massive punishment for circumventing the salary cap. The journalist first broke the story and has stuck by it ever since.

Many have questioned and criticised Torre during that time. Mark Cuban, billionaire and former owner of the Dallas Mavericks, is one of those people.

And after the journalist was proven to have been in the right all along, Cuban’s response to the news got NBA fans to remind him that he chose the wrong side.

The discourse over what the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard did has been ongoing for a year. During this time, Cuban took it upon himself to declare his position as being ‘Team Ballmer’.

Now, Ballmer has been suspended for a year and fined $30 million in accordance with the league’s findings. Cuban stuck his neck out and congratulated Torre on X, but it didn’t save him from the fans.

“This really shouldn’t have been your L too. You had nothing to do with this until you decided to take a stand against investigative journalism,” one fan pointed out to Cuban.

“You immediately played defense for your fellow billionaire. This tweet should’ve been an apology, not a congratulations. Go **** yourself,” another fan commented.

“He was obviously right from the get go, and you were obviously biased,” a third fan claimed. “You shouldn’t have been so quick to talk about what you didn’t know,” a fourth fan wrote.

“You tried to essentially bully a journalist into backing down when your billionaire buddy got caught cheating. I can’t forgive that,” claimed a fifth reply.

It’s clear that NBA fans don’t want to hear what Cuban has to say on this matter anymore. What makes it tougher to understand is that he could have easily avoided this entire situation, too.
