The Yankees news: With Aaron Judge out,New York Yankees will be without Aaron Judge this October. However, they still have a chance to land Giancarlo Stanton.

On Tuesday, Stanton took part in agility workouts at Yankee Stadium, per Chris Kirschner of The Athletic. Stanton has been out with a left calf strain. In late August, manager Aaron Boone feared Stanton would miss the rest of the season.

Stanton is batting .256 with 23 hits, 3 home runs, and 14 RBIs. He has appeared in 24 games.

The Yankees clinched a playoff berth on Sept. 14. They are awaiting their opponent for the American League Wild Card series beginning Sept. 29. It will likely be their longtime rival, the Boston Red Sox.

On April 26, Stanton sustained a calf strain injury while rounding the bases in a game against the Houston Astros.

Since then, Stanton has bounced around during his rehab with different start-and-stops. Meanwhile, the Yankees held it together.

Throughout his career in New York, Stanton has appeared in the postseason since 2018. Altogether, he has played in 48 postseason games. In 2024, he won the ALCS MVP Award as the Yankees made it to the World Series. Ultimately, they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games.

Altogether, Stanton has a career postseason batting average of .254 with 45 hits, 18 home runs, 44 RBIs and 26 runs scored.

Last year, the Yankees defeated the Red Sox in the American League Wild Card series. Then, they lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Division Series in four games.

The Yankees have six games left in the regular season.
