World Cup RO16: Switzerland vs Colombia – Lineups announced

Colombia, the only remaining South American team other than Argentina in this World Cup, meets Switzerland in the last match of the Round of 16 on Tuesday at the BC Place Vancouver.

Both teams will are looking to confirm their qualification to the quarter finals where Argentina awaits them after their win against Egypt. Find out the team news and who is playing tonight below.

Switzerland made a couple of changes to their lineup that was used in their match against Algeria.

Ruben Vargas and Johan Manzambi goes out of the starting XI as Ardon Jashari and Fabian Rieder gets the nod ahead of them.

Colmbia

Colombia are forced to make at least one change to their team, and that is their only change in this match.

Jhon Cordoba was subbed off in the last match in the eight minute due to injury and will not take any part in this World Cup. Luis Suarez replaces him and returns to the starting XI once again.

Our Prediction

Switzerland, ranked 19th in the FIFA Rankings, meets 13th-ranked Colombia in the Round of 16 but Colombia is the dark horse of this tournament.

They also reached the final of the Copa America last time, where they were beaten by Argentina, but they improved over time.

Though Yakin Murat’s men will not make it any easier or be intimidated by Colombia, but we say Colombia wins it 2-1.
