Wonder scores a $425 million partnership with DoorDash as it builds its food empire
Lore said in a statement that the DoorDash partnership allows Wonder to “focus on long-term ambition: a fully autonomous food system that can plan, produce and deliver personalized meals at scale, serving all 21 meals people eat each week.”
With its acquisition, DoorDash said that it wants to expand Wonder’s Grubhub Campus Dining business, which is live at 450 colleges and universities, to stadiums, hotels, and other venues.
“Adding Grubhub Campus Dining to our platform will enable us to bring greater choice and convenience to college students while streamlining operations and reducing friction for universities,” DoorDash co-founder Tony Xu said in a statement.
For those who live in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic regions, the fast growth of Wonder is palpable. It seems as though new stores are popping up all over the place, and it’s not an illusion. Wonder says it now has 157 locations, more than quadrupling its footprint since the start of 2025. It plans to expand to Texas in early 2027.
