Wizards C Alex Sarr reportedly has surgery on fractured right foot, but expected to be ready for 2026-27 season

Washington Wizards center Alex Sarr had surgery performed on a fractured right foot on Monday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reports.

Sarr, 21, sustained the injury last week during a workout in which a contact play was made. The 7-footer is expected to be healthy by the beginning of the upcoming season, which will be Sarr’s third NBA campaign.

In his second season, Sarr performed like the player that the Wizards envisioned when selecting him No. 2 overall in the 2024 NBA Draft. However, he was limited to 48 games due to hamstring and toe injuries. Sarr averaged 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2 blocks per game.

This story will be updated with more information.
