India and the West Indies head to Indore with the five-match T20I series level at 1-1. The third T20I is on Sunday, October 11, at the Holkar Cricket Stadium.
After India took the first win at Lucknow, the West Indies quickly bounced back in the second T20I at Ranchi, chasing the target of 250 in 18.3 overs with nine balls to spare.
Skipper Shai Hope led the onslaught, as he made an unbeaten 102 off 45 balls to take his side to the win, while Sherfane Rutherford also played a major role with his 84 off 37.
Shreyas Iyer’s side would look to stop the West Indies’ momentum right here if they plan on winning the series.
During the white-ball series, India have twice failed to defend a sizeable target against the West Indies. Iyer cited dew as one of the factors why India were unable to stop the visitors from running riot in Ranchi.
India is bowling second in Indore as well after West Indies won the toss and elected to field.

Will dew be a factor in Indore for India vs. West Indies 3rd T20I?
Early signs point to lighter dew than in Ranchi. The monsoon has retreated from Madhya Pradesh, and the weather in Indore has turned dry and hot. One outlook for the match calls only for light dew in the evening.
Ranchi showed how much the ball can change after dark. Iyer said dew had a major effect on the second T20I and that no target feels safe when the chasing side can reach 249 with time to spare.
The Holkar Stadium also has short boundaries, about 56 metres square and about 68 metres straight. Even a slightly damp ball can travel far there, so the toss-winning captain is likely to bowl first again.

Local meteorologist Anand Harshana has said there is no indication of rain between October 8 and 12, with dry conditions after the monsoon. Indore reached 34°C on October 6, and the West Indies team manager has asked for extra green coconut water because of the heat and dry weather.

Chances of rain interrupting play in Indore
The playing window runs from about 7:00 PM to 10:45 PM, and the rain chance in that stretch is close to zero.
The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association has a contingency plan in place, including arrangements to cover the ground if needed, according to CEO Rohit Pandit. A full contest without DLS interruptions looks very likely.
The bigger challenge could be the heat early in the evening. The temperature should ease from around 30°C at the start to about 27°C in the closing overs, which will help the players as the match goes on.
