The AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins signed three new players to contracts on Monday.
WBS signed defenseman Brent Johnson and forwards Lucas Ciona and Mark Senden to AHL contracts for the 2026-27 season.

Johnson spent the 2025-26 season with the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers and compiled 12 goals and 55 points in 72 games.
Ciona was with the Calgary Wranglers last year and finished with five goals and nine points in 47 games. He was picked in the sixth round of the 2021 NHL Draft by the Calgary Flames.
Senden was with the Colorado Eagles during the 2025-26 season, finishing with four goals and 13 points in 53 games. This was his second season with the Eagles.
WBS is looking to load up for another run at the Calder Cup next season after losing in six games to the Toronto Marlies in the Eastern Conference Final this year.
