‘Wickedness has become economic policy’ — Sowore blasts wage suggestion critics

The 2027 African Action Congress, AAC, presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has described the opposition to his proposed N500,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers as “wickedness” that has become an economic policy.

Sowore made the statement in a post on X.

He criticised Nigerians who oppose the proposed wage, claiming that some people earning as much as N30 million monthly are among its loudest critics.

Sowore also faulted some low-income Nigerians for defending the position that paying workers N500,000 would cause inflation.

“₦30 million for them is acceptable, but ₦500,000 for a Nigerian worker is inflationary?
