It looks like Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawerence’s day is over in the Week 1 game against the Cleveland Browns.
The Jaguars decided to pull Lawrence with about eight minutes left in the fourth quarter of the contest against the Browns.
Here’s a closer look at why they did that.
Why Jaguars removed Trevor Lawrence from Week 1
The answer is simple: it’s a blowout, ladies and gentlemen.
The Jaguars were up 34-3 over the Browns when Jacksonville pulled Lawrence in the fourth quarter. It just didn’t make any sense to keep him in there and put him at risk, so the Jaguars got their franchise quarterback out of there.
Lawrence finishes his day 18-of-23 for 245 yards and four touchdowns to zero picks. He also added two carries for three yards.
Nick Mullens will finish the game off.
