Who was the Nashville area’s top player this past TSSAA baseball season?

The Tennessean has named its players of the year, but now you get to decide if we were right by voting in our poll. 

Pick your favorite selection below from our list of candidates, vote as many times as you want and make your voice heard. Voting will close Sunday, June 21 at noon. 

Joey Ansell, Brentwood Academy: Ansell, a Kentucky signee, batted .389 with 28 hits, five home runs and 30 RBIs. He was also the Eagles’ top pitcher with a 6-1 record, 1.80 ERA and 64 strikeouts during BA’s DII-AA state runner-up season.

Stephen Bobo, Shelbyville: Bobo, a Vanderbilt signee, batted .526 with 50 Hits, 11 extra-base hits and 23 stolen bases going into the Class 4A state tournament. He was 2-1 as a pitcher with two saves, a 2.80 ERA and 38 strikeouts.

Wyatt Clatur, Nolensville: Clatur, a Virginia signee, went 6-1 with 74 strikeouts in 41.2 innings pitched, while maintaining a 1.17 ERA. He allowed just 11 hits and was named District 11-4A Pitcher of the Year.

Jack Dugan, Lipscomb Academy: Dugan, a Tennessee signee and DII-AA Mr. Baseball recipient, batted .538 with 70 hits, 12 doubles, 11 home runs, 39 RBIs, 56 runs and 27 stolen bases during Lipscomb’s run to the DII-AA state semifinals.

Bo Holloway, Christ Presbyterian Academy: Holloway, a Vanderbilt signee and DII-AA Mr. Baseball finalist, went 10-0 with a 1.61 ERA, 90 strikeouts and 13 walks during CPA’s run to the Division II-AA state championship.

Michael Holt, Ravenwood: Holt, a Vanderbilt signee, batted .393 with 46 hits, 34 RBIs, 13 doubles and nine home runs. He also scored 43 runs and had 11 stolen bases.

Drew Hostetler, Siegel: The Lincoln Memorial signee hit .516 with nine doubles, 11 triples, seven homers, 40 RBIs, 61 runs and 38 stolen bases.

Cayden King, Middle Tennessee Christian School: King, a Texas A&M signee, went 5-2 with a 1.08 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 45.1 innings. He also batted .353 with seven doubles, five homers, 29 RBIs, 32 runs and 17 stolen bases.

Riley Martin, Smith County: Martin, an Alabama commitment, recorded 112 strikeouts and 26 walks in 69 innings, while keeping a 1.52 ERA. He batted .336 with 41 hits, 26 RBIs, four home runs and 13 stolen bases.

Jameson Napper, Grace Christian: Napper, a Vanderbilt signee, batted .358 with 39 hits, eight home runs and 39 RBIs. He went 7-1 as a pitcher with a 1.40 ERA and 91 strikeouts.

Kaden Powell, Beech: Powell, a Kentucky signee, batted .349 with 30 hits, 26 RBIs and 15 home runs while helping Beech reach a Class 4A sectional series.

Gunner Skelton, Columbia Academy: Skelton, a Vanderbilt signee, batted .380 with 15 doubles, 10 home runs, 40 RBIs, 47 runs and 27 stolen bases. He also went 8-4 as a pitcher with a 0.74 ERA and 96 strikeouts.
