Ever since Game 3 during the opening round of the Eastern Conference postseason between the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks, two things remain true.
While over a month has passed, the Knicks have not lost a single game. Meanwhile, at each home game, singer Avery Wilson has performed the 8220;The Star-Spangled Banner” before every tip-off at Madison Square Garden. Some fans think that Wilson is bringing good luck to the Knicks during this spectacular run.
Wilson has performed six times during the playoffs and the one time he could not make it is the one time that the Knicks have lost at home since the postseason began. Here is more from Wilson (via New York Daily News):
“I8217;m now realizing the amount of adrenaline and energy that comes from the audience and what their role is, actually, in the arena when you’re at the game,” Wilson said. “When I sing, there is an energy and there’s all these endorphins let out from the people screaming.”
