Which OKC Thunder players are on Exhibit-10 contracts for NBA preseason?

The OKC Thunder is gearing up for the 2026-27 NBA season.

OKC began training camp on Tuesday, and its first of five preseason games will be against the New Orleans Pelicans in Tulsa on Oct. 6. It’s an opportunity to get a look at the Thunder’s standard roster and its two-way players, but there’s also another group in the mix.

OKC has signed four players to Exhibit-10 contracts. It’s a one-year, non-guaranteed minimum salary deal that allows a player to participate in both training camp and preseason games. That group consists of Christoph Tilly, Andrew Holifield, Robert McCray V and Zhaire Smith.

An Exhibit-10 contract can be converted into a two-way contract. And while all three of OKC’s two-way spots are filled, the team can move things around because its 15th and final standard roster spot remains open.

Here’s a look at each Thunder player on an Exhibit-10 contract:

Holifield is a 6-foot-8 forward who went undrafted this past summer. He averaged 11.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists as a senior at Lamar while shooting 38.1% from the field (30.2% from deep).

Holifield has the size, reach, athleticism and mobility to be a versatile defender. Those tools helped him earn a 2024-25 SLC All-Defensive second team selection with averages of 1.6 blocks and 1.1 steals.

Holifield also shot 37.8% from deep on 3.6 attempts per game that season, which makes it a bit easier to look past his senior-year shooting struggles. If he can provide some floor spacing in addition to being a threat in transition and a versatile defender, he’ll be an intriguing prospect at the NBA level.

McCray also went undrafted this summer after a four-year career that included stops at Wake Forest, Jacksonville and Florida State. The 6-4 guard averaged 16.3 points, 6.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds as a senior at Florida State while shooting 45.8% from the field (35.5% from deep).

McCray is a talented playmaker who can break down defenses and create advantages for his teammates. Even though he averaged 3.6 turnovers per game as a senior with the Seminoles, his biggest strength as a pro will undoubtedly be his facilitating.

McCray also has good strength, solid positional size, quick hands and a consistent motor. All of those traits should help him defensively, but he still needs to show more discipline on that end. Either way, there’s potential for him to put it all together and stick in the league.

Smith is the only non-rookie on this list. Philadelphia selected him with the No. 16 pick in the 2018 draft, but he fractured his left foot that August and suffered a near-fatal allergic reaction the following month that resulted in severe weight loss and emergency thoracoscopy surgery.

Smith then bounced around the G League upon his return, and he appeared in 33 games with the OKC Blue last season. The 6-4 guard averaged 20.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists on 57.7% shooting from the field (45.1% from deep).

Smith’s recent shooting is encouraging, considering that was a big weakness of his entering the draft. He also has the physical tools and IQ to be a good defender. It’d be quite the story if he can work his way back to the NBA at age 27.

Tilly is a 7-foot center who spent three seasons at Santa Clara before finishing his college career with a lone season at Ohio State. He averaged 11 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a senior on 47.9% shooting from the field (23.2% from deep).

Tilly’s positional size immediately stands out, but there’s also a good amount of skill to his game. He can put the ball on the floor when attacking the rim, and he’s a capable passer. He has even shown a willingness to extend his range, going 34 for 125 from deep (27.2%) throughout college.

Putting on some more muscle would go a long way for Tilly, who isn’t as active on the boards as you’d like to see for a 7-footer. He also struggles to defend more physical big men around the rim. But after showing some flashes of potential with OKC during Summer League play, it makes sense that the team took a flyer on him.
