The top four finishers in singles and doubles advanced to state Oct. 15 and 16 at Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason. Those berths were clinched during district play Oct. 7.

In the doubles final, New Albany juniors Claire Siegel and Valentina Suslova erased a 3-0 deficit in the first set to sweep UA senior Nancy Li and sophomore Zoe Lloyd 6-4, 6-1. Siegel and Suslova had needed 3 hours, 20 minutes to edge Dublin Coffman senior Eknoor Kaur and sophomore Emma Zerbi 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-2 in a semifinal.

Olentangy Orange seniors Aaria Gala and Zoe Haar swept Kaur and Zerbi 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 in the third-place match.

Already having clinched a return to state, Columbus Academy junior Ella Tsao added a second Division II district championship with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Columbus School for Girls senior Iva Karagirova at UA.

Tsao won district last season in doubles with former teammate Gabrielle Stewart.

Karagirova is at state in singles for the second straight year.

In doubles, Worthington Christian seniors Evie Bourgeois and Tori Bourgeois continued their undefeated season (20-0) with a 6-1, 7-5 win over CSG senior Emme Dizon and sophomore Hannah Goldberg.

The Bourgeois twins are both making their first trip to state.

Only the district champion and runner-up advance in Division II.
