When do CU and CSU football teams play again? A look at future games

Labor Day weekend used to mean Rocky Mountain Showdown weekend.

For years, rivals Colorado and Colorado State playing at Mile High Stadium in Denver was a staple of the holiday weekend.

Not anymore.

The 2026 season opens for both teams this week, but CU is playing Sept. 3 at Georgia Tech. The Rams do have a rivalry game Sept. 5, but it’s against former Mountain West foe Wyoming.

CU and CSU haven’t played since 2024. When will they meet again? It’s still a ways out. Here’s a look at the future Rocky Mountain Showdown games currently scheduled.

All games are scheduled to be played on campus of the host school. Exact dates of games can change.

Sept. 15: CU at CSU

Sept. 14: CSU at CU

Sept. 17: CSU at CU

Sept. 16: CU at CSU

Sept. 19: CSU at CU

Sept. 11: CU at CSU
