What to expect from Pitt transfer Rasheem Biles as a Texas Longhorn

During his time as a Panther, Biles recorded 183 total tackles and 10.5 sacks. He took his game to another level during the 2025 campaign when he set a new career-high in total tackles with 100 and interceptions with 2. That is partly why the linebacker was a popular name when he entered the portal.

While at the University of Pittsburgh, Biles showed he could handle an increased workload, improving every year. On a team with national title aspirations, the newest Longhorn should fit in while not having to be the center of attention. The role will fall to familiar faces such as Colin Simmons.

In his first season as a Longhorn, Biles is joining a talented linebacker group. The Longhorns other options include Tyler Atkinson, Kosi Okpala and Ty’Anthony Smith. That group should be able to make life difficult for opposing quarterbacks on a weekly basis.

If Biles can replicate his numbers from Pittsburgh he should be a force for head coach Steve Sarkisian. He will also be motivated to raise his stock with the NFL Draft less than a year away. Regardless of how the depth chart plays out, the Longhorns should get a boost with Biles in the mix.
