Dave Hollenbeck, a longtime head coach at St. Thomas More, moved across the state and led the Trojans to their first state championship in 25 years in his first season.
West Central leaned on a three-headed monster of senior Will Kuhl and juniors Conor Mebius and Hayden Heier. The 6-foot-10 Kuhl averaged 15.8 points and 6.9 rebounds, Mebius went for 18.4 points and 5.0 assists per game and Heier scored 10.0 points per night.
