Wednesday Cannon Fodder: Champions League match day

Good morning, TSFers! I’m a bit tired from following election results last night. But we move. We’ve got Arsenal in the Champions League to attend to this afternoon / evening. The squad is in Prague to face Slavia Praha, kickoff at 3:00 pm ET.

Yesterday’s matches went mostly as you’d expect. Stuttgart was disappointing in a 2-0 loss to Galatasaray, but as we always point out, it’s tough to win away in the CL. Manchester United were trailing 2-0 at home to Roma at halftime but came roaring back with three goals in the second half. Matheus Cunha tallied what they’re calling a Diego Costa hat trick — two goals and a red card (for two yellows).

Today, we’ve got Fenerbahce-Liverpool and AEK Athens-Real Madrid in the 12:45 ET window. The matches alongside Arsenal are:

Lens-Como
Dortmund-Real Betis
Leipzig-Manchester City
Porto-Napoli
Eindhoven-Club Brugge
Viking-Sabah Masazir

PSG maintained their perfect record yesterday. Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Real Betis all have three wins from three and are looking to maintain theirs in today’s action. Arsenal are 2-1-0 with today’s match pending. The Gunners will be the only side to have played 3 of their 4 away matches in the League Phase by the halfway point.
