· · 2 min read

Kelsie Whitmore already owns one of the biggest resumes in women’s baseball, so the Savannah Bananas gave her an entrance to match.

It felt more like a pop concert than a walk-up.

That is exactly why it worked.

Kelsie Whitmore’s entrance had the Bananas crowd hyped

Whitmore made her grand arrival with champagne energy, walking in to Fergie’s “Glamorous” as the crowd roared for one of baseball’s most visible trailblazers.

An entrance fit for the first round WPBL pick and Women’s USA Baseball player, Kelsie Whitmore.

The reaction made sense because Whitmore is not a novelty act. She is a two-way pitcher and outfielder who has represented the USA Baseball Women’s National Team since 2014.

She helped Team USA win gold at the 2015 Pan American Games and has World Cup silver medals on her resume. In 2022, she became the first woman to play in the Atlantic League with the Staten Island FerryHawks. She later pitched for the Oakland Ballers before joining the Bananas in 2025.

Her next step could be even bigger. San Francisco selected Whitmore first overall in the inaugural Women’s Pro Baseball League draft, making her the face of a new league set to begin in 2026.

Moments like this are why Banana Ball works.

The Bananas have built a product that treats introductions, dances, and walk-ups as part of the game, not a break from it. Their format includes choreographed routines, fan interaction, a two-hour clock, and a rule where fan-caught foul balls count as outs.

Special entrances help turn each player into a character the crowd can follow, even before the first pitch. That’s why Whitmore is a perfect fit, as her career already carries real baseball weight, and the Bananas gave her story the shine it deserved.

Young fans were not just watching a player walk out to Fergie. They were watching a No. 1 pick, Team USA veteran, and professional trailblazer get treated like the star she already is under stadium lights in front of everyone.
