Warriors forward Jimmy Butler progressing amid recovery from ACL tear
Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III appears to be progressing, following an ACL tear he suffered in January. Prior to the injury, Butler III was having one of the most efficient seasons of his 15-year career, averaging 20 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.2 blocks. Butler III was shooting 51.9% from the field, the second-highest mark of his career and 37.6% from 3-point range, the fourth-highest mark of his career.
In a video posted to social media, Butler III was spotted doing shooting drills in the gym, an encouraging sign for Warriors fans. It’s also worth noting that Butler III wasn’t stationary, moving in rhythm before shooting.
A Golden State insider previously reported last month that the former Marquette guard could be targeting a Christmas Day return; however, there have been no updates on that front since.
