United States President, Donald Trump, has urged Ukrainian leader, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to immediately stop military strikes against Russian diesel refineries.
Trump told reporters on Sunday that the continuous strike on the oil facilities is “hurting the world” and creating a shortage of fuel globally.
According to the US leader, his Ukrainian counterpart has to do one thing. “He has to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russia.”
According to him, the Ukrainian military can go after other facilities being targeted “but not diesel, because he’s causing a shortage of diesel”.
The US President said that current disruptions across diesel markets globally do not stem from tensions in the Middle East but rather originate from the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump said Washington raised the matter directly with the Ukrainian leader, emphasizing that American officials do not want Kyiv targeting refineries.
