WAEC releases 2026 WASSCE results

Candidates can access the detailed performance statistics released by the examination body.

To check their results, candidates are required to generate a PIN and serial number on the WAEC website before proceeding to the result portal. The process involves providing their examination number, National Identification Number used during registration and other required details for one-time password verification.

Nearly 1.96 million candidates from more than 24,200 secondary schools participated in the examination, which was conducted between April 21 and June 19, 2026.

Although the majority of candidates wrote the examination using the conventional pen-and-paper format, WAEC recorded a notable increase in the number of schools that adopted the computer-based testing option compared with previous years.

Before the release, the council had indicated that the results would be made available approximately 45 days after the conclusion of the examination.

The development comes a few months after WAEC released the results of the 2026 First Series Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates.
