WAEC GCE (2nd Series) 2026 registration has commenced

This is to inform the general public and intending candidates that registration for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates 2026 – second series has commenced. Registration for the exam currently costs N27,000. Closing date for Generation of PIN is Friday, July 31, 2026. Intending candidates are advised to complete their Biometrics capturing and Online registration by 11:59pm on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026. Please carefully read all content of this page to successfully register for the 2026 GCE.

REGISTRATION FOR THE EXAMINATION:
Registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2026-Second Series will be online. After the Registration PIN, candidates should log on to www.waeconline.org.ng for registration. Candidates should also note that the registration procedure has been designed to accommodate biometric features that will be used for validation at the examination centres.

Candidates are also informed that all WAEC Past Questions, both objective and theory, together with their solutions and answers, are now available online. Note that WAEC intends using CBT for the conduct of this exam. It would do candidates a lot of good to prepare for the exam using the Myschool WAEC  CBT software or the Myschool WAEC CBT Mobile . This will help candidates to get familiar with the CBT environment and cover WAEC Past questions as well.

Closing date for Generation of PIN is Friday, July 31, 2026. Intending candidates are advised to complete their Biometrics capturing and Online registration by 11:59pm on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026.

In addition, Candidates will be requested to pay five hundred naira (N500.00) commission to the banks/accredited agents.

Candidates can also explore any of the following cashless payment channels included in the new advert to procure registration token with credit/debit card.

Candidates who wish to register for the examination after the close of entries may be accommodated as “Walk-in-Candidates” provided they register not less than twenty-four hours to the scheduled time of the paper(s) they intend to write. The “Walk-in-Candidate” fee is Forty-Five Thousand Naira (N45,000.00) only.

Candidates with special needs will also register online like other candidates but they must clearly state their Impairments e.g Visual, Low vision, Spastic, Speech, Hard to hear, etc

Candidates can visit accredited banks, Cyber Cafes, WAEC offices and “WAEC REGISTRATION POINTS” nearest to them for PIN purchase and registration

Candidates MUST conclude registration within two weeks of first access to the website during the registration period. They should ensure that their names, gender, passport photographs, dates of birth and subjects are correct. They are also to print the Admission Notice, as Evidence of successful registration, which will serve as identification during the examination. The Result Checker PIN will also be on the Admission Notice. The acceptable fingerprint Scanner is UareU digitalPersona fingerprint device.
