The Jo Adell reveals how he trulyCleveland Guardians acquired Jo Adell in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels before the 2026 deadline. Adell has given Cleveland a much-needed boost, as he offers legitimate right-handed power to a lineup that has struggled to hit home runs. While he’s clearly helped the Guardians, Adell recently explained how the team has helped him improve as well, via Mason Horodyski of News 5 Cleveland.
“I think being an organization like this and the history of how they’ve been able to get the job done and compete, in October and be able to do this. It’s made me a better player,” Adell said. “Even when I got over here, we had a stretch of games, we had to fight to get to this point where we are now… It’s made me a better baseball player. It’s made me think about the game in a better way.
“I couldn’t be happier to be part of this organization.”

Adell is currently playing in his first career MLB postseason. The veteran had already established himself as a reliable big league player, but his former team, the Los Angeles Angels, have not reached the postseason since 2014. Now Adell is playing with a ball club that is a playoff-caliber team.
The Guardians currently trail the Chicago White Sox in the American League Division Series 2-1. Cleveland is looking to keep its season alive on Thursday night in Chicago.
“It’s win it or go home,” Adell added in reference to Game 4 of the ALDS. “Everybody wants the opportunity to play in games that matter like that, so couldn’t be happier.”
