Vote for the SouthCoast Boys Volleyball Player of the Year for 2026

This spring was a mixed bag for SouthCoast boys volleyball teams as New Bedford High was in a rebuilding mode while GNB Voc-Tech made major strides from a year ago, finishing as co-champs of the South Alliance, winning the State Vocational championship and punching a ticket to the MIAA playoffs. 

It’s time to shine a spotlight on the SouthCoast athletes that stood out this spring. 

Before we announce our super teams, we need more help from our readers to help choose our Player of the Year in each sport. Like our polls from this past winter and fall, the list has been narrowed down to the most elite athletes in the area.

Vote for the SouthCoast High School Boys Volleyball Player of the Year below. Reader votes will make up 25% of the tally, with Sports Editor Laurie Los Lee making up the rest of the vote.

Candidates are listed in alphabetical order by school.

Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 27.

A two-year varsity player, Garcia enjoyed an impressive season as the sophomore setter racked up 505 assists, 138 digs, 20 service aces and 18 kills to power the Bears to an MIAA playoff berth and the State Vocational Large School title. He was named the South Alliance co-MVP. 

The junior outside hitter was a force at the net for the Bears, slamming down a team-high 194 kills to lead GNB Voc-Tech to a share of the South Alliance title and the State Vocational Large School championship. The South Alliance All-Star also recorded 85 digs.
