ATHENS, GA ― Vanderbilt football will hit the road for the second straight week when it takes on No. 2 Georgia in a Week 5 matchup.
The Commodores (3-1, 0-1 SEC) are coming off a loss to Auburn, while Georgia (4-0, 2-0) defeated Oklahoma in Week 4.
Jared Curtis, Vanderbilt’s starting quarterback, was a 5-star recruit who was originally committed to Georgia but flipped to the Commodores just before signing day. Curtis got banged up during the Auburn game and was listed as questionable for the Bulldogs game. If Curtis cannot go, Blaze Berlowitz is prepared to get the start.
Georgia returns quarterback Gunner Stockton from last season’s team that reached the College Football Playoff. The Bulldogs have defeated Arkansas, Western Kentucky and Tennessee State. Vanderbilt defeated Austin Peay, Delaware and NC State before losing to Auburn.
The matchup will be held at Sanford Stadium on Oct. 3 (11:45 a.m. CT, SEC Network).
