Junior Damara Allen scored a career-high 17 points, but UTSA otherwise struggled to get rolling on offense, dropping the season opener 69-51 against UNLV on Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Allen was the only Roadrunners player to score in double figures, hitting 5 of 13 shots for a UTSA team that shot just 26.7% with 21 turnovers.
The Lady Rebels used a 10-0 run in the second quarter to take a 27-21 lead into halftime, then scored the first seven points of the third quarter to stretch the margin. UNLV led by as many as 22 points down the stretch.
The Roadrunners held the Lady Rebels to 32.8% shooting with 18 turnovers.
