Utah coach Morgan Scalley discussed Colorado quarterback Isaac Wilson at his weekly news conference, ahead of the Utes‘ Saturday visit to Folsom Field.
Scalley coached Utah’s defense while Wilson played quarterback for the Utes. Wilson and Colorado cornerback Jason Stokes Jr. transferred from Utah before the 2026 season. Deion Sanders announced Tuesday that Wilson will start at quarterback for the Buffs against his former team.
“Yeah, and he did a really good job as a scout team quarterback and really smart,” Scalley said. “He’s bright. Look at the throws he makes on the outside. He has the arm talent, you know, but it’s not as big of a deal in my opinion as I think people could make it out to be.”
Scalley said Wilson and Stokes know Utah’s terminology, while the Utes also know the Colorado transfers.
“He’s definitely done a great job of being developed at Colorado, and he’s going to know, obviously, there’s some things terminology-wise and Stokes as well,” Scalley said. “Jason Stokes is going to know some things, but at the same time, we have a feel for his strengths and weaknesses.”
