Updated ESPN FPI college football top 25 rankings after upset-filled Week 8
Another wild weekend of college football action around the country is in the books, and we must now wait for the updated AP Top 25 rankings ahead of Week 9.
This week, we saw No. 2 BYU fall to unranked UCF in double-overtime, No. 8 Texas Tech lose to unranked CIncinnati, No. 11 Tennessee lost to unranked South Carolina on a last-second field goal, No. 15 Iowa lose to unranked Minnesota, and No. 16 USC get steamrolled by unranked Wisconsin.
With such a whirlwind of a weekend, there will be several shake-ups in the latest rankings. But first, before the official AP Top 25 poll is released later in the afternoon, the ESPN FPI rankings were updated to give us a taste at how the College Football Playoff could play out.
In the latest ESPN FPI, the Ohio State Buckeyes hold firm at No. 1, followed by the No. 2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Miami leapfrogs Georgia to take over the No. 3 spot, while the Indiana Hoosiers round out the top five.
