Jacob Misiorowski is coming off back-to-back strong starts against the Nationals and Yankees, spanning 11 1/3 scoreless frames with just two hits and four walks allowed, striking out a whopping 19 batters to put him at 70 for the season. Given that we’re roughly one-fourth of the way into the season, that puts him on track for roughly 260 strikeouts (and, in a best-case scenario, vying for 300 strikeouts) despite being on pace for closer to 180 innings.
The former second-round pick out of Crowder College in Missouri has done so on the back of his electric fastball.
UPDATE: The previous version of the Miz Limit shirt said 104 — not anymore, as he hit 104.5 mph in Friday night’s win over the Phillies en route to a one-hit, 15-strikeout shutout. I think we’ve run out of words for him.
