
Four-star power forward Triston Hawthorne committed to the University of Houston on Thursday, giving coach Kelvin Sampson another top 100 recruit in the class of 2027.
Hawthorne, a 6-foot-7 senior from Ellisville, Miss., picked the Cougars over Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Harvard.
He is the No. 18 power forward and No. 90 overall prospect nationally, according to 247Sports.
UH currently has the nation’s top-rated recruiting class with Hawthorne, point guard Darrell Davis (No. 31), combo guard Oneal Delancy (No. 43 and center Derek Daniels (No. 82).
