UFC Vegas 118 live results, highlights and play-by-play

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is live TONIGHT (Sat., June 6, 2026)with bonfim">UFC Vegas 118, streaming live online via Paramount+. The event happens inside META APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UFC’s last show before its blowout White House bash is flying under-the-radar; however, there’s some interesting bouts here. The main event is Belal Muhammad vs. Gabriel Bonfim. Muhammad was the Welterweight champion little more than one year ago. He’s lost twice in a row, though, and now sees his Top 5 status under attack. Bonfim is on a nice little win streak, but this is the deepest into the top ranks he’s ever travelled.

The co-main event provides a similar kind of story. Brendan Allen is ranked No. 4 at Middleweight and is coming off two very impressive wins (like this). He’s got the surging Edmen Shahbazyan tonight, someone outside the Top 15 (here’s why). Allen might be wanting to stay busy, but he risks getting shuffled out the title picture if he slips up here.

Rounding out our main card tonight is Fares Ziam vs. Tom Nolan, Bryce Mitchell vs. Santiago Luna, Matt Schnell vs. Alessandro Costa and Iwo Baraniewski vs. Junior Tafa. Ziam, Luna and Baraniewski are all exciting prospects in their respective divisions.

The featured “Prelim” tonight is Marcus McGhee vs. John Yannis. McGhee is coming off a loss to current champion, Petr Yan (in an overseas co-main event). He’s got a two-fight Octagon veteran in this match-up. Bruno Silva vs. Edgar Chairez and Jordan Leavitt vs. Joanderson Brito should be pretty good scraps, too.

Round 1: Bonfim darted in and out to start the round, but he darted right into a one-two. Muhammad landed another one of those combos with Bonfim still seemingly trying to decide how he was going to approach his own offense. Bonfim then started throwing kicks. He landed a good body kick and a few hard leg kicks, too. Bonfim warmed up, with his counter punching, towards the end of the round. It’s a very hard round to score. I’ll give it to Muhammad due to his big early punches.

10-9 Muhammad

Round 2: This round was much like the first, with Muhammad looking to score with his one-two and Bonfim trying to slide out of range and land counters. Muhammad, having had success with that combo in round one, looked a little in love with it here. That’s despite, Bonfim evading it more and more. Bonfim was able to land some clubbing counters as Muhammad’s attacks started to look more loose and wild.

Round 3: Bonfim showed a little more aggression moving forwards in this round and landed a nice overhand right. He also landed hard leg kicks, too, which started to force a limp out of Muhammad. Muhammad went for some takedowns in this round, but they didn’t come close. After stuffing a takedown, Bonfim landed a huge one-two that sent Muhammad’s mouth piece across the cage. Herb Dean paused the action to get the mouth piece back in and Bonfim flashed a big smile to his corner. Bonfim then landed more hard leg kicks and stunned Muhammad with a straight right.

29-28 Bonfim

Round 4: Muhammad fought like he knew he was down on the scorecards. He threw a lot of punches and kicks in combination and managed to brush Bonfim back a few times, early on. Bonfim still looked very fresh, though, and he was able to take those shots and then step forwards and land some of his own, including a very quick snapping jab. Muhammad had a bright spot in the round, when he moved forwards and landed his right hand. But it wasn’t enough to change the momentum of the round/fight.

39-37 Bonfim.

Round 5: Bonfim cruised in the fifth, sitting behind the jab and the leg kick that had worked for him all night. Muhammad tried to jump in to land a big shot, but Bonfim was too quick, too fresh, and too smart to get caught by it. Muhammad pays for not establishing his wrestling game early, again.

Round 1: Allen did a hood job of being the first to the punch and landed some good jabs early in the round. After a pretty quiet three minutes, Allen surged forwards and went for a single leg, but Shahbazyan was able to defend it. Moments later he landed his first good punch of the fight, a short counter hook. Allen got wild at the end of the round, leaping in with a knee, and both exchanged some shots before the bell.

10-9 Allen

Round 2: Both men looked a lot more loose to start this round. There were a number of exchanges in the pocket and they looked pretty even. Allen tried to mix in takedowns, early, but couldn’t get them. He did land with power after that, though, and Shahbazyan looked a little dazed. Shahbazyan continued to land after that, but his strikes didn’t have the same oomph that Allen’s had. Shahbazyan landed some of the nicer looking shots towards the end of the round, but Allen completely no sold them. Allen landed a few single shots, though, that had Shahbazyan backing up and feeling up at his nose.

20-18 Allen

Round 3: Allen took the center and was aggressive from the opening bell, walking down Shahbazyan and landing more big, but single, shots. Shahbazyan responded with a good combo, but Allen, again, just walked through it. Allen continued to score with his overhand right and elbow and he managed to cause a big cut over Shahbazyan’s eye. Shahbazyan slowed down after that and Allen took advantage by getting in very close and landing more short elbows. With twenty second left, Allen scored a flash takedown.

Round 1: After meeting in the middle, Ziam scored a single leg takedown and tried to take Nolan’s back. Nolan made it to the fence, though, and managed to stay on his feet and get away. Nolan then got a takedown of his own, off a big punch. He managed to land in side control. This time Ziam shuffled to the fence and used that to get up. Nolan then took him for a ride with a big slam. Ziam was able to bounce out from under him, though, and get on top. That was a close round, but most the big moments belonged to Nolan.

10-9 Nolan

Round 2: Ziam rattled off a combo to start the round. He then stuck Nolan with a stiff jab as Nolan came forwards. Nolan then looked for a takedown, which Ziam defended. A long clinch happened after that, but a slip from Ziam meant Nolan was able to get on top of him on the ground. It Ziam a lot of time to get up and after that he was still controlled on the fence for much of what was left of the round.

20-18 Nolan

Round 3: Ziam landed a takedown from the clinch at the start of the round. Nolan looked to control his posture and avoid ground and pound and was largely successful at doing so. Ziam got off some elbows, but was eventually able to take the back. Nolan exploded and was able to force Ziam to slip off him and then Nolan got on top. Ziam got up quickly this time. Ziam scored another takedown with a minute left. He needed a finish, though. Ziam through some big shots with seconds on the clock, but he should have done that instead of going for a takedown.

29-28 Nolan

Official decision: Tom Nolan def. Fares Ziam by unanimous decision (29-28, 20-28, 29-28)

Round 1: Luna landed a good punch early on. And that prompted Mitchell to go for a takedown. Luna defended initially, but ended up getting dragged down with Mitchell in side control. Mitchell hung out there for a while, but eventually improved to mount and scored a back take and rear naked choke attempt at the end of the round.

10-9 Mitchell

Round 2: Mitchell got Luna to the fence early in this round and landed some knees to the body. He then scooped up a single leg and scored the takedown. Luna managed to scramble and get on top, though. Mitchell went for a triangle and that was enough to make Luna back off and let him stand. Mitchell then got Luna to the fence again and this time performed a body lock takedown. Mitchell held him down for the rest of the round.

20-18 Mitchell

Round 3: Luna came out firing in this round. But Mitchell wrapped him up and pulled guard. He tried to use the rubber guard on the ground. Luna postured up and tried to get space for ground and pound, but Mitchell’s legs were too active. Mitchell rolled to get up and Luna put on a D’arce choke, but he was too tired to convert with it. Mitchell was able to get out and end up in full mount. Mitchell smothered and exhausted Luna from there, though didn’t do any damage. Mitchell would eventually get a tight arm triangle and a tap with 13 seconds left on the clock.

Round 1: Baraniewski started slow in this fight. It took him over a minute to hurt Tafa, which he did with a couple of calf kicks. Tafa went down on the second and Baraniewski took him out with ground and pound for another quick win.

Matt Schnell vs. Alessandro Costa: Costa’s striking was too fast and clean for Schnell. He dropped him with a big right hand and then jumped on his back to land hammerfists. Schnell was gripping Costa’s leg all the time and Herb Dean waved off the fight, despite Schnell seeming totally awake. Schnell got up feeling very disappointed. I think that’s a pretty bad early stoppage.

Marcus McGhee vs. John Yannis: I’m glad I was right on my prediction for this fight. McGhee was the big favorite, but this was a close fight and very fun to watch. It was a kickboxing match and McGhee looked the more talented and experienced fighter in the first round. Yannis surged back and showed he belonged in the Octagon, but he just couldn’t get over the hump and out strike McGhee down the stretch.

Bruno Silva vs. Edgar Chairez: Chairez’s speed and reach played havoc early on in this fight. He hurt Silva a few times before dropping him. Chairez poured on ground and pound and then took the back when he got the chance. From there he slid in the choke for a statement victory at Flyweight.

Priscila Cachoeira vs. Chelsea Chandler: Priscila had the aggression and the power advantage in this fight and that led to big shots landing on Chandler early. Chandler managed to tie Cachoeira up so she could get some breathing room and then pulled out a big knee that stunned Cachoeira. A few shots after that caused the Brazilian to go down and Chandler hopped on her to hunt for submissions. After softening Cachoeira up with punches, Chandler was eventually able to get the armbar for the win (and possibly broke Cachoeira’s arm).

Jordan Leavitt vs. Joanderson Brito: Leavitt shot immediately and tried to put Brito in trouble on the ground. Brito proved up to the task, though. He got out of a guillotine and got to his feet. Once he got some separation he landed hard shots and was able to snatch up a D’arce on a desperate Leavitt.

Jeisla Chaves vs. Yuneisy Duben: This was a more even fight than many expected. Chaves looked the more polished fighter and landed the better looking strikes. But the raw Duben was very strong and was able to bully her around a little. I had the fight scored 29-28 for Chaves and two of the judges agreed with me.

Ketlen Souza vs. Arianne Carnelossi: Souza was never going to lose this one. She looked very calm and confident and placed her shots extremely well. After a minute or so she reeled off a combo that put Carnelossi down and then finished her with a kick as she was on the way up.
