UFC Vegas 118 Highlights! Brito Stuns ‘Monkey King’ With Rare Ninja Choke
Joanderson Brito may have earned his biggest UFC win to date earlier tonight (Sat., June 6, 2026) at UFC Vegas 118 live on Paramount+ from inside UFC8217;s Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, putting a stop to veteran Jordan Leavitt with a crafty first-round ninja choke submission.
Despite Leavitt’s grappling prowess and Octagon experience, “The Monkey King” was a betting underdog heading into Saturday’s matchup with Brito. That’s probably because Brito is a physical force at 145 pounds and can often overpower his opponents quickly and violently. Leavitt can certainly hold his own inside of the cage, but he’s not the most aggressive fighter. It left a clear path to victory for Brito.
The first few minutes were a back-and-forth of grappling and positioning. It was evident that Brito was landing the better shots on the feet when the action lasted there and Leavitt was relying on his ability to close the gap and grapple. Once Brito was able to keep his distance and score harder punches it forced Leavitt to reach for takedowns. One of which left his neck wide open and allowed Brito to lock in the rare ninja choke finish.
