Dricus Du Plessis returns for his first fight since losing the middleweight title to take on former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
Du Plessis (23-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) was last in action at UFC 319 in August 2025, where he dropped the title to Khamzat Chimaev. It was his first loss under the UFC banner, snapping an 11-fight winning streak. Du Plessis won the title by defeating Sean Strickland at UFC 297 and notched two title defenses.
Usman (21-4 MMA, 16-3 UFC) returns to the middleweight division to take on the former champ. His last appearance was a main event win against Joaquin Buckley last June in a welterweight bout. In the fight prior, he dropped a short-notice majority decision to Chimaev at 185 pounds.
According to DraftKings, Du Plessis is a comfortable -340 favorite to bounce back against Usman, who opens as a +270 underdog.
