After his highly publicized exit from the UFC after winning five of six fights inside the octagon, Michael Page has a new home.
The longtime Bellator veteran and UFC veteran has inked a multi-fight, multi-year deal with Misfits Boxing, the promotion announced during its event on Saturday.
“I’ve been in combat sports for a long time, and I’ve had plenty of options, but MF Sports is the right fit for me,” Page said in a press release. “They’re doing things differently, the energy is huge, and the fights are big. I’m excited for this new chapter, and I’m coming to show the boxing world what I can do.”
Page (26-3 MMA, 2-0 boxing), known also as “Venom” and “MVP,” does not have a date or opponent announced for his debut with the company.
The addition is an exciting one for the company press, however, with KSI giving his fellow Brit a warm welcome, noting big plans ahead.
“Michael Venom Page is one of the biggest names in combat sports, and everyone wanted him,” KSI said. “For him to choose Misfits says everything about where we are as a promotion. He’s a superstar, he’s explosive, and fans are going to love watching him in the ring with us.”
Additionally, Misfits CEO Mams Taylor weighed in on the signing.
“MVP is special,” Taylor said. “He’s a once in a lifetime fighter and I can’t express how happy I am that he is now part of the MF family for combat sports. Big things ahead is an understatement. Michael Venom Paige is a superstar and he will be celebrated as such.”
