UFC 331 Highlights! Vera Forces Jourdain To Wave Off Fight For Late TKO

Marlon Vera looked to be in vintage form earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 19, 2026) at UFC 331 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Calif., scoring multiple knockdowns en route to a third-round TKO (submission to punches) over streaking bantamweight Charles Jourdain.

Vera, who entered Saturday a betting underdog, was coming off four-straight losses at 135 pounds. All of those defeats came by way of decision so it’s not like “Chito” was getting blown out by the competition, but the 33-year-old veteran desperately needed a win if he was going to stay the course in the bantamweight division. It wasn’t going to be easy for Vera because Jourdain has been on a heater since dropping down from featherweight two years ago.

Jourdain came out firing in the first round and put more volume on “Chito” then he was able to return. Vera is notoriously a slow starter so fans were expecting more output in the second round. That’s exactly what happened as Vera completely opened up with kicks, elbows inside, combinations, and heavy ground-and-pound. Jourdain barely survived, but he wouldn’t make it another five minutes. That’s because Vera scored multiple knockdowns in the third round, which left Jourdain on his back waving off the fight. It was complete dominance.
