UCL: Torres picks top four favourites to win trophy this season

Paris Saint-Germain forward Ferran Torres has picked his top four favourites to win the UEFA Champions League this season.

He picked his former club, FC Barcelona, as one of the top contenders following PSG’s match against Slovan Bratislava in the competition.

While expressing support for his current team, Torres also highlighted Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as the clubs most likely to vie for Europe’s premier accolade.

“Indeed, Barcelona are among the teams considered likely to win the title,” he stated during a press conference, as reported by Goal.

“Real Madrid are also competitors, along with Bayern Munich, and so are we . It promises to be a huge competition.”

Torres was one of the key players in the first round of Champions League matches this season. The 26-year-old scored a hat-trick as PSG beat Slovan Bratislava 6-1 in their first game at the Parc des Princes.

Barcelona also enjoyed a scoring spree, triumphing over Feyenoord with a 5-1 scoreline at the Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday. Raphinha netted two goals, while Lamine Yamal, Karim Adeyemi and Gabriel Jesus also contributed to the score in what was a commanding performance.

In contrast, Real Madrid delivered a lacklustre display, narrowly securing a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan, while Bayern Munich convincingly defeated Bodo/Glimt 5-0 at the Allianz Arena on Thursday.
