UCL: ‘They have fantastic striker’ – Barça boss, Hansi Flick hails Osimhen ahead Galatasaray clash

Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick has hailed Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League encounter with Galatasaray, scheduled for Tuesday.

Osimhen, who recently recovered from an injury, has emerged as a pivotal contributor for the Turkish Süper Lig champions, scoring six goals and providing three assists in five league matches during the current campaign.

The Nigerian international further underscored his importance to the squad by providing an assist in Galatasaray’s 3-1 victory over Kasimpasa following his return from injury.

Following Barcelona’s 3-0 victory over Getafe on Saturday, Flick acknowledged Galatasaray’s quality and emphasised that his squad must be adequately prepared for the challenging atmosphere at Rams Park.

He said, according to Fotomac: “We will face Galatasaray on Tuesday.

“We’ll be playing in the world’s loudest stadium. We need to prepare for that. This is the Champions League; it’s different. Every team in the Champions League is very good.

“Galatasaray have a fantastic striker like Osimhen. They really have a great squad. We need to be ready for this match. We must play our best football against Galatasaray.”

Osimhen is expected to feature in the starting line-up against Barcelona, having last started a match in September’s 3-2 victory over Istanbul Başakşehir.

The Nigerian international will be expected to inspire Galatasaray and help the team secure a favourable result against Barcelona to boost their chances of advancing through the Champions League knockout stage.
