UBEC, LASUBEB begin distribution of 15,675 learning materials to Lagos public primary schools
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Hakeem Shittu, described the instructional materials as critical resources that would enhance classroom teaching, improve pupils’ learning experiences and equip teachers to deliver more effective lessons.
He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to sustaining investments that promote free, accessible and quality basic education for children across Lagos State.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, said the initiative reflected the strong partnership between the Federal Government, UBEC and the Lagos State Government in advancing educational development.
He urged education managers, school administrators and teachers to ensure the materials were properly utilised for the benefit of learners, stressing that transparency, accountability and effective monitoring would be vital to the success of the intervention.
According to the commissioner, the distribution is expected to enhance teaching and learning in public primary schools while supporting efforts to build a more inclusive and globally competitive basic education system.
The event concluded with the symbolic presentation of instructional materials to selected pupils, signalling the commencement of distribution to schools across all 20 Local Government Education Authorities in Lagos State.
