Spain head coach, David Aznar has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance against Nigeria’s Falconets.
La Rojita began their campaign at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Moses Aduku’s side.
Aznar’s side took a well deserved lead through Marisa Garcia in the 13th minute.
Alba Cerrato then put the game beyond Nigeria by scoring the second goal 17 minutes from time.
Aznar said starting the competition with a win is very important.
“We are very pleased. Winning the first match at a tournament of this level is always positive because it means that your destiny remains in your own hands going into the following games,” Aznar was quoted by FIFA.com.
The former champions will face debutants New Caledonia in their next game on Thursday.
