Tyson Bagent to start in Week 5
Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent will start the Week 5 road game against the Green Bay Packers, with quarterback Caleb Williams (hamstring) still on the shelf. Journeyman quarterback Case Keenum, who led the team to a win in Week 3, will serve as the primary backup. “Tyson will be the guy, and we’ll go forward from there,” head coach Ben Johnson said.
Why it Matters: Bagent threw for 268 yards and an interception in Week 4, and he is a little more mobile than Keenum. With Bagent under there, wide receivers Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III have the potential to have better stat lines, too, while the run game should also be leaned up heavily with D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai leading the way. For fantasy purposes, though, Bagent is nothing more than a low-end QB2, bye-week streaming replacement and/or No. 2 option in leagues starting two quarterbacks.
