Tyson Bagent explains how Bears WR Jahdae Walker has improved

Wide receiver Jahdae Walker will always be a part of Chicago Bears history for his touchdown against the Green Bay Packers to send the game to overtime and ultimately to a Chicago victory.

Walker, who’s gotten opportunities with the first-team offense with Luther Burden III sidelined, has been a standout during training camp. For an undrafted rookie, he has already come a long way. Backup quarterback Tyson Bagent has seen Walker grow throughout training camp into a player who could really make an impact on the offense this year.

“I think we’ve been able to see him run routes a lot faster,” Bagent said. “He’s not thinking; he’s playing. He’s a guy that I think you can plug in a couple different positions that’s able to do a couple different things. His size, his strength, and obviously he can take the top off as well. So being able to see that jump, being able to run fast without thinking, which is something you see a lot of with rookie wide receivers. I think he has a chance to have as big of a year as he wants to, so I think he’s done great so far.”

Since Walker is listed on the second-team, he will probably get some preseason action this year. He only had six receptions during the regular season last year. But with how well he has done in training camp, he should see an increased role in 2026.
