When LeBron James signed for the Philadelphia 76ers as a free agent, a lot of people were excited. Of course, there were still some valid concerns, especially about how many players will require the ball to make an impact.

That has not been an issue so far because James’ arrival has also led to the 76ers becoming more unselfish with each other. Tyrese Maxey is the star player, but he loves seeing how everyone is sharing the ball and the many responsibilities.

Tyrese Maxey lauds LeBron James’ impact on the 76ers’ unselfishness

The 76ers are now 8-1 to start the season, and they are enjoying the basketball they are playing. They are not standing out in the metrics because they are 20th in points per game at 110 points a night, but they are grinding out the wins.

A big part of their success is how they share responsibilities with each other. Everyone sees Maxey as the star player, but Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, James, and even V.J. Edgecombe can carry the team to victory.

On Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons, Brown was the one who led the team with his 30-point night. It was a revenge game because the Pistons are the only team to beat the 76ers this season so far.

In terms of the credit, it seems that Maxey wants to commend James for his impact on the team. As an experienced leader who is in his record-breaking 24th NBA season, he has had a profound impact on his teammates.

“All the ego stuff and the one-ball stuff that we hear, it’s going to be okay because LeBron’s here, and he has made everybody willing passers. When LeBron can be a willing passer, the rest of us can too,” Maxey said after the 76ers win against the Pistons.

They have the right approach this season, and that could be the tone-setter for the rest of the year. Of course, they are only nine games in, so things can change. However, at the moment, it is hard to count out the 76ers when it comes to championship discussions.
