Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton opened up about his relationship with Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones.

Haliburton tore his Achilles in June 2025 during Game 7 of the NBA Finals, while Jones tore his Achilles during Week 14 in December 2025.

Both Indiana-based stars are returning to the court this season after their long absences, and Haliburton opened up on how the pair connected over this time.

Tyrese Haliburton reveals he and Daniel Jones have been talking about recovery

At the Pacers Foundation Charity Softball Classic, Haliburton spoke to the media and was asked about Jones, revealing the pair have been talking about their respective recoveries from their Achilles tears.

“Yeah, we talked a good amount. We have the same surgeon. He got hurt much closer to now, and he’s coming back earlier. I am excited to see how everything pans out for him.”

“I’m really excited to see him back, and I know the city is as well. We have had a few conversations. I’ll be there as much as I can (to help him).”

Haliburton and Jones put pressure on their Achilles in very different ways, with Haliburton’s constant movement up and down the court as a point guard, and the sharp runs he needs to make, adding more stress than a QB.

Nonetheless, two high-level athletes sharing information on their injury recoveries should only help both be better after they return to the court and field.

In a different interview, Haliburton elaborated on the major difference between his and Jones’ recoveries coming with time, as Haliburton will return to the court with almost six additional months away than Jones.

“It’s funny with the Achilles; there’s a big difference between 9-12, 12-15 (months)… At nine months, I felt like, ‘Hey, I could probably play.’ But even the way I feel now is completely different than I did nine months ago.”

“He doesn’t have the benefit of that now, but I am curious to see how he feels in three months. Obviously, there is a difference with his position and what I do running in the NBA, but I am excited to see; I know he’s going to be awesome.”

The Colts season starts on September 13 against the Baltimore Ravens, with Jones expected to play, making his return in nine months since getting hurt.

Haliburton won’t make his regular-season return until October 21 against the New Orleans Pelicans, but will presumably make his on-court return in preseason, which is still 14 months after his injury.
