Trump replaces White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles with Stephen Miller
United States President Donald Trump has named Stephen Miller to replace White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles following his party’s defeat in the midterm elections.
Trump disclosed this in a post on his Truth Social platform on Friday, 6 November 2026.
According to Trump, Wiles will be reassigned to another role, where she will oversee political operations.
The BBC quoted Trump as describing Wiles as having done an “outstanding job”, adding that she would be moved to the “Trump Political Operation”.
DAILY POST reports that Miller is a long-time aide to Trump and the architect of his administration’s hard-line immigration policies.
Miller is expected to assume the position on Monday, 9 November, while Wiles will continue working with Trump’s political organisation.
Recall that Trump’s party, the Republicans, lost control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate to the Democrats during the 3 November US midterm elections.
Former US President Barack Obama described the election results as a ballot against Trump’s leadership.
However, Trump said the outcome of the polls did not mean that the American people had rejected him.
