Troops stop terrorists from entering Ghandi town in Sokoto

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have stopped suspected terrorists from advancing into Ghandi town in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The development was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst Bakatsine on Sunday.

According to the post, the operation was carried out early Sunday morning after troops acted on credible intelligence about the movement of the suspected terrorists.

The troops reportedly took strategic positions around Ghandi Bridge and engaged the attackers in a gun battle, forcing them to retreat before they could enter the town.

Several of the terrorists were said to have been wounded during the exchange of fire, while some attempted to escape through a nearby river.

“A follow-up search conducted at daybreak led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a loaded magazine, additional rounds of ammunition and personal belongings abandoned by the fleeing suspects,” the post added.
