Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, disclosed the development in a post on his X handle.

According to Makama, the incident occurred at about 6:16 p.m. on September 6, when troops intercepted the vehicle in Kaura Namoda town.

He said the vehicle was carrying four women, two children and two men when it was stopped for a search.

During the operation, one of the suspects reportedly attempted to flee but was neutralised by the troops.

Three bags of suspected cannabis were subsequently recovered from the vehicle.

Makama said military sources disclosed that the driver confessed that the recovered items were intended for delivery to a suspected terrorist at Dayau Village in the same local government area.

The driver and the recovered exhibits have been taken into military custody for further investigation and necessary action.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt terrorist logistics networks and prevent the movement of illicit supplies to armed groups in Zamfara State.
