Troops arrest 20-year-old suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of supplying logistics to terrorists in Borno State.

The suspect, identified as Mohammed Alhaji, was arrested at about 9:30 am on August 23, 2026, during a checkpoint operation at Mandaragirau.

A military source told Zagazola Makama that the arrest followed credible intelligence about suspected suppliers and sympathisers operating in the area.

Preliminary investigations showed that Alhaji allegedly used his cargo motorcycle, with registration number BBU-514VC, to transport supplies to terrorist fighters and evacuate their casualties.

The suspect was also reportedly linked to support activities following a recent attack on troops.

He was later handed over to the Army Provost Group for further investigation and necessary action. The motorcycle is being kept by the 162 Amphibious Battalion.
