Transfer: Man City set to sign Gakpo from Liverpool, Scanlon joins Arsenal

Manchester City have opened talks with Liverpool to sign Cody Gakpo, according to Sky Sports.

The Reds will however be considering whether or not to sell, given City’s contact has come late in the window, which closes on Tuesday.

It is understood a potential move for Gakpo is advancing in City’s direction despite interest from Tottenham.

Discussions are also under way over personal terms for the Dutch forward.

It comes as Liverpool close in on signing Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for £106m rising to £123m.

Meanwhile, Manchester United youngster James Scanlon has secured a permanent move to Arsenal.

The Gibraltar international, 19, failed to make a senior appearance for United, but was included in the matchday squad UEFA Europa League visit to Real Sociedad in March 2025.
