TM Sluggers, Amoroso's, Flintstone win in Mtn. League

POTOMAC PARK — The Travel Mug Sluggers drew 15 walks en route to a 13-8 victory over Bedford in a Mountain League Baseball Junior Division game Tuesday at Hamilton Field.

Bedford held a 12-5 edge in hits, but walks and 11 errors allowed the TM Sluggers to score multiple runs in four innings.

Errice Weeks reached base five times, scoring twice, and had a team-high two hits, and Silas McIntyre scored three times.

Ben Kamp was the winning arm, giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits in four innings with two strikeouts and no walks.

Bedford’s Gavin Wagoner and Cameron Feight had three hits each. Feight drove in two runs, and Kaalan Wilt singled twice. Brantley Elliott was dealt the loss.

The Travel Mug Sluggers (5-5) took on Hampshire on Wednesday and battle the Cresaptown Eagles at Memorial Field on Friday at 6 p.m.

Bedford (3-7) faces the Cresaptown Eagles at Hamilton Field on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Amoroso’s 6 Outdoor Power 2

WESTERNPORT — Gunner Thomas gave Amoroso’s the lead during a four-run sixth, and it proved to be decisive in a Junior Division game against Outdoor Power on Tuesday.

Outdoor Power led 2-0 midway through the second inning. Amoroso’s plated a run in the second and third frames to tie the game, and the score remained level until Thomas’ go-ahead single.

Brayden Harvey and Bayne Stowell doubled for Amoroso’s.

Briyer Cadwallader pitched five strong innings in a no-decision, allowing two runs on four hits and five walks with three strikeouts.

Stowell pitched a scoreless sixth to get the win after the four-run bottom half.

Outdoor Power’s Owen Pearce tripled and Jace Lancaster doubled. Jeremiah Hampton was the losing pitcher.

Amoroso’s (4-8) is at Hampshire on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Outdoor Power (3-7) heads to Flintstone on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Flintstone 15 Frostburg 3

FLINTSTONE — Flintstone racked up 11 hits in a five-inning rout of Frostburg in Junior Division action Tuesday.

Chase Mallow and Mason Kisamore both doubled and singled, Noah Swadley finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs and three runs, Weston Twigg scored three times, and Lane Humbertson singled twice and scored three runs.

Twigg was the winning pitcher after surrendering a run on a hit in three innings of relief. He struck out eight and walked four.

Swadley started in a no-decision, allowing two unearned runs on a hit in two innings.

Frostburg’s Jacob Shipe doubled and singled. Scott Cowan was dealt the loss on the bump.

Flintstone (9-1) hosts Outdoor Power on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Frostburg (4-7) faces Cumberland Rotary at Holler Field on Thursday at 6 p.m.
