There is no doubt that the times have changed in Nashville, and just one look at the Tennessee Titans‘ rebuilt wide receiving corps will tell you that.
Entering the offseason, the Titans‘ wide receiver room may have been one of the biggest question marks on the team, but after the free agent addition of Wan’Dale Robinson, drafting Carnell Tate, and reworking Calvin Ridley‘s contract, the room looks much better.
But even with all of those changes, it was an unheralded holdover from 2025 who caught the eye of Jim Wyatt as he broke down his thoughts from the offseason workouts: Xavier Restrepo.
No one caught more passes than receiver Xavier Restrepo during the open workouts. I counted 26 catches for Restrepo over the course of the seven open practices, and the next closest guy was five catches behind. A year ago, I suspected some folks were afraid Ward might rely on Restrepo too much if they were both out there at the same time. It’s been obvious to me that Restrepo makes plays no matter who is at QB. The competition at the WR spot is fierce, and I’m still skeptical about Restrepo’s chances of being in the top five or six, and on the 53. But when I watch him consistently make plays, he’s a guy I’d sure like to have around.

As Wyatt points out, Restrepo has an uphill battle to make the Titans’ 53-man roster coming out of camp, although it is not impossible. Restrepo does have chemistry with Cam Ward, but proved in this offseason that his short-area quickness and route running ability can be successful with any quarterback at the helm.
The Titans should have an outstanding training camp battle at the wide receiver position, and have only one or two spots up for grabs with Robinson, Tate, Ridley, Chimere Dike, and Elic Ayomanor likely locked in. Could Restrepo find a way onto the roster? Absolutely, but another season on the practice squad is his likely destination.
